START WITH A PLAN:

Make a list of what you want to accomplish in your home. This list can be as detailed as you want. Start by breaking the list down by each room such as Master Bedroom: organize closet,purge clothing, etc.

DE-CLUTTER!

Once your list is complete, move on to decluttering.Take a deep breath and clear out your mental clutter first. Decluttering creates space, and space equals peace of mind. Once your mind is clear, you will be able to focus on the project at hand. My philosophy is: if you have not used or worn an item in a year,it’s time to discard. This does not include collections, sentimental items or books.Those items need special attention.

MAKE IT “ME” TIME:

If possible, try to work when you can be alone. Creating a quiet space, free of distractions, will enable you to focus on the task at hand. Before you know it, you have reclaimed your space!

RECYCLE WHAT YOU
DON’T NEED OR WANT:

Find a local charity to be the recipient of your unwanted items. By donating locally (churches, orphanage, Goodwill, American Veterans, etc.), you are giving back to your community. Additionally, by donating locally you can have your items picked up for free. Try to tackle a project every week. By the end of one year (and 52 projects later) you will be amazed at what you have accomplished.
